What kinds of animals do you provide care for?
We most commonly provide care for dogs, cats, birds, fish & rabbits. If you have other types of pets please ask for details. I love all animals and do not discriminate against big dogs or small dogs. Temperament is incredibly important, however, and will be determined in my FREE initial consultation.

Are you Insured and Bonded?
Yes, I am a member of and Insured and Bonded through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC

Are you a sole operator, or do you employ others?
I am the sole operator of Koastal Critter Kare. My mother, Shirley, is my back up if a problem should arise or I get sick. Arrangements will be made to be sure your family and home are taken care of as planned.

Do you provide references?
I can provide client references upon request.

How do you schedule services?
You may schedule services by emailing me at info@koastalcritterkare.com or by calling. We will schedule an initial FREE consultation and then go from there.

How does your service work?
First, we will set up an initial FREE consultation to meet and greet. I will come to your home so I can meet your animal loved one(s) and make sure everyone gets along. We will go over all paperwork, answer any questions and tour your home while discussing detailed instructions on how to care for your animal. Ultimately this is to make sure that you are happy with what we have to offer. We will also determine exactly what service will work best for your pet and if you need any of the extra add ins. From there we will set a schedule that you are comfortable with and go from there. When scheduling appointments, there is a 30 minute window in case of traffic when the appointment time starts and will be documented on your individual Report Card.

In what areas do you provide service?
Please see service area map included on web page. Any area outside of our service area will incrue an additional $.40/per mile to your home from our office in Costa Mesa which will be quoted at our FREE initial consultation.

How long are your visits?
My visits are a minimum of 1 hour and 30 minute increments after the 1st hour. I will do 30 minute express visits on a case by case bases. I do as much as you need me to do in the time that you purchase, including as many animals you own. This encompasses everything from feeding, playing, cleaning the yard, walking your dog, etc. The length of the visit needed will be determined on our FREE consultation.

How do you manage keys?
I prefer to leave clients keys at their house in a SECURE hiding place, which will be determined at the initial consultation. If you have outdoor pets only and don't need anything done indoors, we wouldn't need to worry about a key.

What if my pet becomes ill or injured?
I will have you fill out and sign a veterinarian release form so I know exactly what YOU want me to do in the unlikely event that a pet in our care sustains a life-threatening illness or injury. This way we will be able to promptly seek care from a licensed veterinary professional in order to stabilize the condition until such time that you can decide the appropriate course of action. Any fees incurred must be reimbursed.

What happens when it rains?
Fortunately this is not a frequent concern in sunny Southern California. When we meet with you, we'll discuss your preference. Most clients continue their service and leave us a towel to use when we return. We can't let the rain stop us! If we lived in Seattle our dogs wouldn't go for walks nine months out of the year!

If food runs out or supplies are depleted, how do you handle that problem?
Any supplies will be purchased and added to your invoice + 10%. Receipt attached, of course. I can also do this service for you on a regular basis if you just don't have to time.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash or check paid in full on or before first day of service. If you would like to pay by credit card, I can send you an invoice to your paypal account. All that I would need is the email address you used to open your account.

Do you charge extra for Holidays?
For each visit, an extra $10 fee will be added to your invoice for all major holidays.

Do you charge extra for reservations or cancellations under 24 hour advance notice?
No. You are charged for only services rendered by Koastal Critter Kare. If my hand doesn't touch your doorknob it is a 'no bill' charge.
